Hand Lettered Quote
august 2018
Inspiration: Stefan Kunz's hand lettered MacBook using Sharpie®
My twist: A vinyl sticker decal
Step 1: Layout
When lettering, layout is key.
After I had decided on a quote, my first step was to figure out how to lay it out within the dimensions of a 13" MacBook.
I wanted to place emphasis on specific words and have it be easily readable.
Step 2: Scaling
Once the layout was set, I sketched a smaller version of the piece and then scanned and enlarged it to a 1:1 scale.
To prepare it for cutting, I outlined each letter with Sharpie®.
Step 3: Cutting
Time to cut!
Cutting is a two step process:
1. Using a Swiss Army Knife, I first carefully cut out each letter
2. I then peel away the excess sticker paper that I do not want included
